Anaheim’s State of the City Address Enhanced by LJG

On Tuesday, City of Anaheim Mayor, Curt Pringle, gave his seventh, and final, State of the City Address before a packed house at The Grove Theater in Anaheim. Among the broad spectrum of topics covered, Mayor Pringle dedicated a substantial portion of his Address to discuss the future of transportation in Anaheim. As a self-proclaimed “transportation geek,” Mayor Pringle has been largely instrumental in leading the transportation initiative ARTIC (the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center) and making this vision a realty. The project will break ground in 2011, with a grand opening slated for 2013, making Anaheim the transportation hub of the Southland.

ARTIC is not the only transportation investment Anaheim is making this year. In partnership with OCTA, Anaheim is working to design and develop a state of the art four-mile fixed guideway system to connect ARTIC, the Platinum Triangle, the Anaheim Resort Area, and our convention center,” said Mayor Pringle at the Address on Tuesday. LJG worked in conjunction with Hyphen8tion Studios and Garvey Communications to brand and design the announcement of Anaheim’s new fixed guideway system which will be known as the Anaheim Rapid Connection — “call it the ARC — as you will see it arcing through our city, moving people from ARTIC to the Platinum Triangle to the Resort and the convention center.”

Additionally, LJG is working to create the overall banner that all of these initiatives will come together under to be known as ACONNEXT. “By the time all these initiatives under ACONNEXT are completed by the middle of this new decade, Anaheim will have one of the most modern, most efficient, and most integrated transportation systems in any city in the nation.”

LJG created a high-energy 60 second animation to announce the project at the State of the City Address, which is also featured on the ACONNEXT splash page. The Mayor’s office is “still hearing rave reviews” about the project and its animated announcement.

LJG is excited about this project and are looking forward to its continuation and completion! The full website will be launching in Spring 2010.
